PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tandem pump unit having first and second cooperating hydraulic pumps connected to a drive source, and permitting simplification of piping work between a hydraulic motor and each hydraulic pump. SOLUTION: The first and second hydraulic pumps 10a, 10b support a common center section 20. The center section 20 is formed with a pair of first intake/discharge ports 32a and a pair of second intake/discharge ports 32b, the first and second intake/discharge ports 32a, 32b each being outwardly open at one end to serve as connections with a pair of first hydraulic lines and a pair of second hydraulic lines. The center section 20 is also formed with a pair of first oil passages 31a and a pair of second oil passages 31b, the first and second oil passages 31a, 31b communicating with the first and second hydraulic pumps at the other end.
