PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a time recorder capable of simply changing a printing state of a time card at need. SOLUTION: This time recorder provided with a recorder main body 1 having a card insertion port 2, a printing means 5 provided within the main body 1, a timing means 12 provided in the main body 1, a liquid crystal display 3 for displaying time measured by the timing means 12 and an arithmetic control circuit 8 for controlling the means 5 is provided with a printing switching switch 15 for switching a printing mode to a time card 4 by the means 5 to a normal mode or to a large character mode, and an arithmetic control circuit 8 is set to control the means 5 to enlarge a printing font and to print a set of an attending time printing line and a leaving time printing line corresponding to the date to the whole printing range of the normal mode when printing is switched to the large character mode by the switch 15. Otherwise, the time card detects an ID or the printing mode by a mark, etc., provided for the time card to automatically switch the printing mode by the circuit 8.
