PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the weight of a disk holding device where a disk is placed. SOLUTION: This disk holding device has the placing stages 2 in place of a conventional tray to hold a disk, and a guide support 23 is put through the guide holes 2i of a pair of stages 2 where a disk is placed. Then six pairs of stages 2 are put on each other in a free vertical sliding way and a spring holder 2j is added to the highest stage 2. The lower part of a coil spring 24 which surrounds a spring guide 26 placed between a top plate and a bottom plate is stored in the holder 2j.
