The operating device includes an opening magnet (3) and a closing magnet (4), between which an armature (9) is axially displaceable. The armature is held in equilibrium by valve springs when no current is supplied. A change of state of at least one magnet brought about by an off-center position of an armature is directly transmitted to an adjusting device (20,21) for self-regulated adjustment of the armature in the center position.
