Punching device for metal sheets esp. of aluminum has cutting punch and cutting plate with cutting edges defining two cutting gaps for simultaneous shearing cut and trim cut

The device has a cutting punch (1) and a cutting plate (2), each with a first cutting edge (3,4) defining a first cutting gap for a shearing cut. Punch and/or die have a second cutting edge (5), in cutting direction behind the first edge. A second cutting gap for a trim cut is defined between first and second cutting edges. The first gap corresponds to approx. 10-20% of the sheet thickness, the second gap corresponds to about 1-5% of the thickness. Both cutting methods are executed with a single stroke of the cutting die. The process is esp. for aluminum sheets.
