The fitting has a bearer on the inside of the door that supports a handle and a pillar with further actuating arrangements. The pillar can be inserted from outside through a door opening and a bearer opening and can be locked onto the bearer inside the door by at least two different plug connectors. The parts of the first plug connector are fixed, whereas at least the part of the second connector on the bearer is movable. The fitting has a bearer (11) mounted on the inside of the door that supports both a handle and a pillar (40) with further actuating arrangements, e.g. a lock cylinder and/or a press button. The pillar can be inserted from outside through a door opening (13) and a bearer opening and can be locked onto the bearer inside the door by at least two different plug connectors (20,30). The parts (22,32) of the first plug connector are fixed, whereas at least the part (31) of the second connector on the bearer is movable.
