Production of a ceramic green foil comprises forming a coating ceramic paste containing ceramic powder dispersed in a dispersant on a carrier foil; drying the paste on the foil; and smoothing by pressing the foil using a plate press at a temperature of 0-150 deg C and a pressure of 500-10000 kgf/cm<2>. Independent claims are also included for alternative processes for the production of a ceramic green foil. Preferred Features: The plate press operates at 20-100 deg C and a pressure of 1000-6000 kgf/cm<2>.
