The filter has a mainly upright housing (2) with intake channel for dirty oil and outlet channel (19) for clean oil. A functional carrier insert (7) is fitted into a holder chamber (6) in a lower section of the filter housing, and it contains the outlet channel. The channel communicates with a central inner chamber of a ring filter insert (5). The holder chamber forms the intake channel, so that the dirty oil flows around the carrier insert and ring filter insert. The carrier insert also has an empty channel (21) to permit oil to drain from the filter holder chamber (4).
