A procedure for finding a record stored in an electronic data file and in which at least one complex search concept or term is inputted and is comprised of at least two separate search criterion indicated as a parameter. The inputted search term or concept is compared with a number of data indicated as 'situations' and filed in a situation data file (SITDAT). In a first logic data file several parameters are combined (linked) with one 'situation' and these combinations are stored for several 'situations' in the first logic data file.
