The fixed comb assembly, at a textile combing machine between a nipper unit and a pair of take-off rollers, has needles (8) at the fixed comb (7) at a working angle ( alpha ) of /-92 deg at their free projection (11) , and pref. /-95 deg . The needles (8) have a convex curvature against the direction of sliver movement, where the curvature is concentric to the rotary axis (13) of the upper take-off roller (5). The working angle ( alpha ) of the free needle projection (11) is measured between the mean movement plane (3) on the direction of sliver movement in front of the fixed comb (7) and the extension of the leading needle edge, at about 98 deg . The angle the leading edge of the free projection (11) of the needles (8) and the tangents through the needle tips and the lower take-off roller is 65-85 deg , and especially 75-80 deg . The fixed comb has a pneumatic cleaning system.
