Method involves introducing product via inlet into processing chamber (2) between processing rotor (3) and enclosing filter drum (4), passing product through this and thereby peeling and/or grinding it, collecting peeled and/or ground product and passing out through outlet whilst sucking residue through filter drum. Artificially induced forced oscillations are applied to product as it passes through filter drum to increase fluidity.
