The combination includes a gear, chain or belt mechanism to effect movement of the seat (3) with respect to the backrest (6). The two seat parts (4, 5) are arranged on either side of a vertical plane extending transversely to the backrest. The seat parts are moved to and fro in directions opposite to one another. Both seat parts are supported by ball or roller bearings, and one seat part may be driven by a motor with an eccentric mechanism. The two seat parts are joined by a coupling rod. The lower part of the backrest is pivotable about an upwardly extending axis, and a reciprocating pivoting movement can be provided to the lower part of the backrest. |
