A carrier for culturing a microorganism wherein a polymer (11) containing trace elements and inorganic nutritious salts which are needed in the growth of the microorganism is sandwiched and laminated between inorganic porous materials (12). This carrier is useful in bioreactors having a high activity and a high microbial cell density, processing waste water, etc.
