<p>A spray head for a spray gun has a body (1) which defines a through-passage (3) which includes a spray orifice (16). The orifice discharges through a planar end wall (17) of a part-conical bell portion (18) of increasing cross-sectional area. The body preferably includes at least one bypass port (21, 22) which conducts additional spray material into the bell portion. The spray head reduces the requirement for adjustment and setting up of the spray gun to achieve a satisfactory spray pattern without boiling at the edges. In an optional form of the spray head a pair of air injector passages (27 and 28) enter substantially perpendicularly through opposite sides of the bell portion with axes which intersect adjacent to the axis (2) of the head. The injector passages create an emergent fan-shaped spray and reduce distortion of the spray pattern creating more clearly defined edges and further reducing over-spray.</p> |
