The stowage device (4) is arranged transversely to the travel direction and can be extended laterally outwards. The stowage device can be extended to the center of the vehicle next to the seat part assigned to it. It can also be extended into a free space formed between two neighboring vehicle seats. It is located inside a seating console (3) carrying the vehicle seat. It can be extended by means of guide rails located rigidly on the vehicle body.
