The invention relates to a method for treating leachates produced by the storage of waste containing mineral and organic matter, comprising a stage involving concentration by evaporation. The inventive method is characterized by the following: the leachates (1) which are to be treated are introduced into a concentration by evaporation device (2) for a short period of time ranging between five and one hundred minutes in order to concentrate non-volatile pollutants and to preserve thermosensitive pollutants; the condensates (3) are introduced into a device (4) for separating gases and/or solvents; said gases and/or solvents are burnt.
