An information distribution system provided with the instant messaging functions including distribution of advertisements and news. When receiving an initial signal (31) associated with a connection request from a subscriber in a terminal group (20A), a main server (11) sends a terminal group (20B) the current IP address used by the terminal group (20A). Thereafter the two terminal groups (20A, 20B) exchanged messages directly by message signals (32). The main server (11) analyzes the attributes of the subscribers of the terminal groups (20A, 20B) and distributes appropriate ones of stored advertisements to the terminal groups (20A, 20B).
