Decorative light pattern prodn. - using spots of light emitted from end of fibre optics fitted inside tubular nails

A decorative pattern formed by points of light uses tubular nails which enclose optical fibres. The tubular nail has cutting edge formed at one end and a flanged head formed at the other end. After the nail has been driven into a board a short length of glass or plastic optical fibres is inserted into the bore with the fibres projecting beyond each end of the nail. A lamp is placed below the board and the light passing along the fibres is emitted from the upper end to form a spot of light.
