The end plug secures the hand grip of bicycle handlebars in position and comprises an expanding bush inserted in the portion of the grip winding folded inside the bars (1). A stem (10) is inserted in the bush and has a diameter greater than the minimum internal diameter of the bush, thus expanding it to grip the bar wall and winding. The bush (4) is split for part of its length into two or more sections. The free end of the split portion tapers inwards (8) and the stem acts against this tapering portion.
