NONWOVEN FABRIC AND METHOD FOR ITS PREPARATION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonwoven fabric which can be applied for various uses due to its excellent tensile strength and excellent balance in rigidity and flexibility, and provide further a method for preparing such nonwoven fabric. SOLUTION: The nonwoven fabric is provided with a film-like layer prepared by pressure bonding of fibers on the whole face in the direction intersecting at right angles to the thickness direction of the nonwoven fabric and a fiber layer containing fibers bonded with the above described film-like layer on one face or both faces of the above described film-like layer. The method for preparing the nonwoven fabric comprises a process for forming a pressure bonded fiber web by practicing heat treatment and pressing treatment on the whole fiber web containing thermoplastic fibers and acting a fluid flow to the one face or both faces of the pressure bonded fiber web.
