PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stably holding device of a long-length matter capable of stably holding the long-length matter such as the lid of a rice cooker or the like and stably supplying it to a transferring destination. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a holding means 1 where the opposed horizontal parts of holding plates 10 fixed to rods 9 moving back and forth on both sides of a cylinder 8 fixed to the lower side of an axis supporting part 7 for axially fitting a knob 4a in the center of the surface of the lid 4 of a rice cooker 4 to a transferring device narrows their opposing interval by moving back of the rods 9 to insert and hold the knob 4a, a linking mechanism 11 consisting of two arms 11a and 11b where one end of the arm 11a is axially fitted to the part 7 and one end of the other arm 11b is axially fitted to a holding plate 10, and a pressurizing means 2 consisting of a pushing bar 12 fixed downward at a right angle to the tip part of the arm 11a. Linked with holding of the knob by the plate 10, caps 18 are abutted on surfaces on both sides of the knob 4 and biased in the direction of the lid 4 by a spring 19 to pressurize it.
