Methods and systems for handling and exploiting slidecard use include a request generator that receives a card code and a key code from a portal device (100). A portal device (100) may be a card reader (105) or the portal device (100) may include one or more buttons or keys (106). The request generator formulates a query to a portal server (108) in a format that maps to a directory structure in the file system of the portal server (108). As a result, the portal server (108) can access a file corresponding to the query without using a database. The query may be formatted as a URL. Because the query is formatted as a URL, the portal server (108) may utilize a standard web server (110) logging mechanism to gather all relevant information regarding a card user avoiding the need for web server (110) logging programs. The portal server (108) returns the requested file to a browser associated with an end user. |
