TRANSPARENT ADSORPTION TANK IN OIL WATER SEPARATOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple detection device which enables the saturation of an oil adsorbent to be detected at a single glance and the replacement of the absorbent with sufficient time after detection, in an oil adsorption tank in an oil water separator that removes oil contents from waste water contaminated with oil such as drain of an air compressor. SOLUTION: A small transparent adsorption tank a housing and an inner cylinder of which are made of a transparent material such as tempered glass is connected to the downstream of a main oil absorption tank. A plurality of oil absorbing layers made of conventional oil adsorbent and a plurality of emulsion treating layers made of emulsion treating material are alternately stacked in the inner cylinder. The adsorbent in the transparent adsorption tank changes in color from the top layer downwards by adsorbing residual oil contents after the adsorbent in the main adsorption tank is saturated, and the change in color is easily checked from the outside through the transparent housing and the transparent inner cylinder. The adsorbent in the transparent adsorption tank as an auxiliary adsorbs the oil contents for a certain period of time after the change in color begins.
