ELECTRODE WEIGHING STAB

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved electrode weighing mechanism which reduces or eliminates excess load in weighing an electrode. SOLUTION: The consumable electrode 14 is hung by the stab 12. Such stab includes an upper hanger 40 and a lower hanger 42 and is mounted with a load cell 44 for weighing the electrode fixed to the lower hanger along a perpendicular direction therebetween. Electric conductors 46 for supplying electric power to the electrode by passing current between both without the exertion of damage on the load cell are coupled between the upper hanger and the lower hanger.
