PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a four cycle engine which is lubricated in every operating attitude of an engine with a good efficiency without enlarging. SOLUTION: This engine E is provided with a cylinder body 10 and a crank case 32 for forming a crank chamber 23, a valve chamber 72 is disposed which is disposed adjacent to the crank chamber 23 and which is communicated through a check valve 71, a first oil supplying passage 74 for communicating the valve chamber 72 and a valve system housing chamber 23, and a second oil supplying passage 75 for communicating a lower part of the valve system housing chamber and an inside of the crank chamber 23, and an outlet of the second oil supplying passage 75 is opposed to the crank shaft 36 and an interlocking parts in the crank chamber. The crank shaft 36 is vertically disposed, a driving gear 52 and a driven gear 51 are disposed on a lower end part of the crank shaft, a gear chamber 73a is disposed so as to house the driving gear 52 and the driven gear 51, and the second oil supplying passage 75 is made to pass the gear chamber 73a on the way thereof.
