PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a racemic metallocene compound by which the objective racemic metallocene compound can be isolated and purified from a mixture of cross-linked metallocene products having halogen- containing substituents. SOLUTION: This method for producing a racemic metallocene compound comprises subjecting a product mixture formed on the synthesis of the cross- linked metallocene compound having halogen-containing substituents to a recrystallization treatment using tetrahydrofuran.
