PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a perfluorovinyl ether sulfonate derivative in a high yield. SOLUTION: In this method for producing a monomer compound of formula II (M is an alkali metal or an alkaline earth metal; n is O, 1 or 2) by thermally decomposing a compound of formula I (M and n are as mentioned above) in an inert solvent, the thermal decomposition reaction is carried out in the presence of a catalyst having a coordination ability on the metal ion M.
