PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To utilize a printer efficiently by providing the printer with means for automatically determining erroneous printing, e.g. erroneous conversion of a character due to some cause. SOLUTION: In the printer system, a printer driver 1b recognizes the number of pages of print data generated by a host computer 1. A printer 2 recognizes actual number of print sheets at a print processing section 2d simultaneously with recognition of the number of pages. A decision is made that print is abnormal if the number of pages received from the printer driver 1b does not match the number of print sheets of the printer 2. When the number of print sheets exceeds the number of pages, it is temporarily stored on a storage medium 2g and that job is released automatically.
