PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet feeder for feeding a lowermost sheet of a number of set sheets with the rotation of a pickup roller, separating the sheets between a separating roller and a separating member, when fed together, and carrying the lowermost sheet only, prevented from causing the sheets, when set, to be pushed in between the separating roller and the separating member. SOLUTION: When sheets S are set, the ends of which are held by a sheet stopper 13, and when a lowermost sheet S1 is fed, the sheet S1 lifts the sheet stopper 13.
