PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elastic expansion-and-contraction rod wherein time for adjusting length is shortened and compressive force is not changed even by a change in the length and, as a result, capability to absorb vibrations such as earthquakes is constant and expansion and contraction are unrestricted and fixing and removing are easy. SOLUTION: Inside an outer cylinder 2, the elastic expansion-and-contraction rod is at least provided with a fixing-and-nipping body 4 or a collar body 31, a movable nipping body 5, compression bodies 6 for being nipped by the fixing- and-nipping body or the collar body, and the movable nipping body, a center rod 3, and a spring 33 inserted around the center rod.
