PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for more easily producing on an industrial scale fusiform calcium carbonate of high dispersibility suitably usable as a loading material or the like for paper manufacturing. SOLUTION: This method for producing fusiform calcium carbonate of high dispersibility comprises introducing carbon dioxide into a calcium hydroxide slurry. Prior to or during the carbonation reaction step, at least one substance selected from fatty acids and metal salts thereof, manganese, iron, copper and zinc, and/or sparingly soluble inorganic microparticles are (is) added to the system.
