METHOD FOR PRODUCING GLOBULAR PHENOL RESIN

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing globular phenol resin excellent in qualities e.g. having no gel time (160 deg.C) nor flowing (125 deg.C), having no thermal cohesion in heating nor fluidity at high temperature and suitable for filler materials and a raw material for carbonaceous materials. SOLUTION: This method for producing globular phenol resin comprises condensation reaction of phenols with aldehydes at high temperature and pressure in an aqueous medium in the presence of a condensation reaction catalyst and an emulsifying dispersant. The above condensation reaction at high temperature and pressure is performed at >=100 deg.C in the presence of water.
