PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst containing at least one element T selected from a group consisting of silicon, aluminum, iron, gallium and boron and containing at least one NES-structure zeolite, preferably NU-87. SOLUTION: The element T is extracted so that the overall atomic ratio of Si/T is controlled to >20. The zeolite exists partly in the form of an acid. Alumina is preferably used as a binder. Further, the catalyst contains at least one metal, preferably rhenium, selected from a group consisting of group VIIB elements, group VIB elements and iridium. Finally, at least one metal selected from a group consisting of group III elements and group IV elements, preferably indium and tin, is incorporated, as required, into the catalyst. |
