PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely treat regeneration of a HC adsorbing material for burning and eliminating coking material such as soot stuck on the HC adsorbing material disposed in a bypass exhaust passage, in an exhaust emission control device for an internal combustion engine. SOLUTION: After a desorption treatment of HC component adsorbed is completed (S100), when NE rotating speed and intake pipe internal absolute pressure PBA exceed each prescribed value (S106, S108), and when a temperature (a temperature at a front of an adsorbing material tmp.fr.trs) of exhaust gas to be supplied to a HC adsorbing material is a prescribed temperature TMP.COKE or more (S110), a bypass exhaust passage is opened, exhaust gas is led, and then, the coking material is burnt and eliminated (S112). |
