PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hot dip metal plating bath vessel, in which the removal of top-dross from the plating bath is facilitated and the effective cleaning of the plating bath is executed only by applying a simple device to the existing metal bath vessel. SOLUTION: In the hot metal plating bath vessel, provided with a rectangular shaped or a trapezoidal shaped vessel for holding the hot metal plating bath, and a plate-like member partioning the vicinity of the surface of the hot dip metal plating bath into a top-dross recovering zone and a plating work zone applying the plating onto a material to be plated, in place of the plate-like member, a box body of which upper part is open and making the sidewall and the side end of the bottom contact with the outer peripheral wall of the above vessel is arranged and also, in this sidewall, an opening part toward the upper part from the position of the bottom, and corresponding to 10-70% of the whole area of the boundary surface formed between the top-dross recovering zone and the plating work zone, is formed.
