PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a top plate for a desk which is easily disassembled and sorted material by material at the time of disposing of a desk. SOLUTION: In a desk provided with a top plate of a laminated structure of a plurality of layers, a substrate material 4 and surface material 5 to be overlaid on the surface of the substrate material 4 which constitute the top plate are not glued together. An edge material 7 of approximately U-shaped cross section is fitted over the circumferences of the substrate material 4 and surface material 5, and the lower side part 10 of the edge material 7 is fastened to the substrate material 4 to constitute the top plate. An inclined surface inclined in the direction of the outer edge of the edge material 7 is formed in the upper surface of the lower side part 10 of the edge material 7, and the inclined surface is fastened to the lower surface of the substrate material 4 within the area of the inclined surface by fastening screws in such a way as to be deformed into close contact with the lower surface of the substrate material 4. A plate spring is provided between the upper surface of the lower side part 10 of the edge material 7 and the lower surface of the substrate material 4 to adapt to changes in the thickness of the top plate at the time of fastening the lower side part 10 to the substrate material 4.
