PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a footwear with a heel and a method for manufacturing the footwear wherein an inner sole, which is thin and soft, can be used even in sandals or pumps with a heel, and a footwear having a flexibility higher than that of a footwear manufactured by a conventional method can be manufactured. SOLUTION: A vamp 1, a welt 2, and an inner sole 3 are integrally sewn to each other. A shank 4 made of plastics having such a width as to cover at least half of the area of the inner sole 3 extending from the heel thereof to the whole shank portion, in which a metal strip 4A is embedded, is bonded to the underside of the inner sole 3. The inner sole 3 and the shank 4 are foxed to an outsole 5 fixed to a heal 6 by a rubber contact bonding.
