<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a monoclonal antibody highly reactive to uracil and thymine, but substantially inert to N-carbamyl-β-alanine. SOLUTION: A hybridoma capable of producing the above monoclonal antibody is provided. Using this monoclonal antibody, an immunochemical assay for uracil or thymine is provided. Furthermore, a diagnostic drug for DPD deficiency is obtained by including this monoclonal antibody. Because of being reactive to uracil and thymine in high sensitivity and specifically this monoclonal antibody enables uracil and thymine in samples to be assayed easily, quickly and selectively, therefore is useful in screening patients with DPD deficiency for whom administration of fluorinated pyrimidine-based antitumor agents is contraindicative.</p> |
