PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the amount of a base material to be charged, to increase a garbage treatment capacity, and to minimize the load of garbage draining in the treatment of garbage by the use of microorganisms. SOLUTION: In an apparatus, a treatment tank having agitation blades and a water storage tank for storing a treated liquid from the treatment tank are provided, a watering means is arranged in the treatment tank. a drain pipe for leading an overflowing liquid flow is fitted to the storage tank, and a reflux means which dilutes the treated liquid by water supplied from a water supply pipe and refluxes the liquid in the storage tank to the upper treatment tank is provided. Since microorganisms work in a wet environment while being circulated through the treatment tank and the storage tank, they are used effectively, a decomposition capacity is improved, and organic substances in garbage are eliminated by being decomposed for safety. Besides, the draining of the garbage is unnecessary.
