PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a meta aromatic polyamide solution, capable of producing a high-quality fiber in excellent productivity, even by using a solution obtained by solution polymerization as a spinning solution for wet spinning only by subjecting the solution obtained by solution polymerization to a filtration treatment. SOLUTION: This method for producing the meta aromatic polyamide solution comprises polymerizing a meta aromatic diamine such as m-phenylenediamine, etc., with a meta aromatic dicarboxylic acid chloride such as isophthalic acid dichloride, etc., in an organic polar solvent and neutralizing evolved hydrogen chloride with an aqueous solution of sodium hydroxide or potassium hydroxide.
