PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aromatic polyester composed of structural units represented by formulas (1) to (5) and processing both sufficient rigidity and heat resistance. SOLUTION: Contents (r1) to (r5) of the respective structural units of formulas (1) to (5) in the aromatic polyester are set as follows when (rt) is the total of the contents of the structural units (1) to (5): 30%<=(r1)/(rt)<=50%; 2.7<=(r2)/(r3)<=4; and 1.0<=(r4)/(r5)<=1.5.
