PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat insulating material with excellent heat insulating properties. SOLUTION: A heat insulating material formed of two sheets of resin films prepared by laminating a flat resin film A and an embossed resin film B wherein (1) a resin film whose energy absorbing ratio to black-body radiation at 0-100 deg.C is at most 0.1 is used, (2) heights of projections of emboss processing of the film B are 1-10 mm, (3) a gas is filled in the projections of the emboss processing of the film B, (4) aluminum is deposited on the outer surface of the film A and (5) energy reflectance to black-body radiation at 0-100 deg.C of the inside surface of the film A after deposition of aluminum is at least 0.85, is provided.
