PURPOSE:To enhance image gradation by setting the exposure distribution of image exposing means in accordance with each control grid. CONSTITUTION:Distributions same as illuminance distributions a, b, c falling on the opening of the backside of destaticizer 10 are obtained on discharge wires 101 in parallel. Exposure distributions a, b, c are obtained by changing the relative positions with respect to a central line (illustrated by an alternate long and short dash line) in the direction perpendicular to discharge wires 101 of destaticizer 10, the peak position of exposure distribution a shown by a short dash line is in the range of control grid G1, the peak position of continuous line b is in the intermediate position (i.e., on the central line) between control grids G1 and G2, and the peak position of dotted line c is in the range of control grid G2. |
