PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a false twisted composite yarn having an appearance full of variety, and good touch, and a production method for readily producing the false twisted composite yarn. SOLUTION: This false twisted yarn is produced by subjecting a first yarn 11, a second yarn 12, a third yarn 13 and a fourth yarn 14 to a false twisting, and has threefold twisted part 15, fivefold twisted part 16, sevenfold twisted part 17 and ninefold twisted part 18. The threefold twisted part 15 is formed by twisting other yarns 12, 13 and 14 on the first yarn 11 singly. The fivefold twisted part 16 is obtained by twisting one of the other yarns 12, 13 and 14 triply and remaining yarns thereof singly on the first yarn 11. The sevenfold twisted part 17 is obtained by twisting two of the other yarns 12, 13 and 14 triply and the remaining yarn singly on the first yarn 11. The ninefold twisted yarn is formed by twisting the other yarns 12, 13 and 14 triply on the first yarn 11.
