PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water gate opening/closing device by improving a conventional rack type water gate opening/closing device having a problem a tooth bearing area of a pin gear engaged with a rack member suspending a door body, the load is concentrated here and an unexpected trouble can occur. SOLUTION: A pair of upper and lower pin gears 26 and 30 engaged with a pin 2a of a rack member 2 are provided, and an equal-distribution mechanism comprising a pair of helical gears 19 and 21 arranged so that the inclination of tooth row is opposite to each other, and a cylindrical gear which is engaged with the helical gears 19 and 21 and slides on a shaft 7 so that the reaction force is balanced by the reaction force of the helical gears 19 and 21 is provided in a reduction gear mechanism ranging from a drive source to the pin gears.
