PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aluminum alloy excellent in corrosion resistance as well as in strength characteristic and suitably used as a material for a structure for transport equipment. SOLUTION: The aluminum alloy excellent in strength and corrosion resistance has a composition consisting of, by weight, 2.0-5.0% Si, 0.3-1.5% Fe, 0.5-2.0% Cu, 0.1-1.5% Mn, 0.1-0.5% Mg, 1.6-3.0% Zn and the balance aluminum with inevitable impurities.
