PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a washing machine capable of cleaning and draining a large quantity of washing drainage in a short time while preventing clogging of a filter. SOLUTION: Washing drainage drained from a washing tub 1 after finishing the wash of clothes is led into a coagulating tub 3 via a drain pipe 8. At this time, a coagulant solution is simultaneously injected from a coagulant solution container 4. Cleaning components such as a surfactant in the washing drainage react on a coagulant to form aggregates of relatively large grains. Furthermore, the washing drainage is agitated while blowing in air by an aerating type agitator 5, so that the aggregates float entraining air, and the washing drainage is separated in an upper aggregate layer 20 with the relatively large ratio of aggregates, and a lower water layer 21 without the large ratio of aggregates. Time required for drainage can thereby be shortened by a large margin by draining from the lower water layer 21 at a stroke. Since aggregates in the drainage are eliminated by filter 10 to drain clear water, a washing machine excellent from the viewpoint of environment can be provided. The recovered aggregates can be easily taken out.
