PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for supplying a basic gas having a proton affinity of less than 866 kj/mol. SOLUTION: The basic gas is protonized by allowing the basic gas to come in contact with a carrier containing at least one polymer sufficiently acidic for protonize the basic gas. The protonized basic gas is condensed to form a solid salt sorbed by the carrier. The basic gas is distributed and supplied by regenerating the basic gas by deprotonizing the solid salt. At least one polymer of the carrier has a first Hammett acidity value more negative than a second Hammett acidity value of the conjugate acid of the basic gas.
