PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To comply with demands that the use of a bactericidal and/or fungicidal antiseptic component having a wide bactericidal and/or fungicidal spectrum is desired because various kings of aqueous industrial products and starch slurry, a gelatinized liquid, latex, etc., used in a paper making factory are easily polluted by various kinds of microorganisms, there is a fear that the quality of products greatly deteriorates by a component change due to rot and it is necessary to control viable microbes such as bacteria, yeast and molds inhabiting a circulation water system and an object to undergo sterilizing and antiseptic treatment under some specified levels. SOLUTION: Active components comprising 2,2-dibromo-3-nitropropionamide, a tetrahalogenated isophthalonitrile compound and a haloacetic acid ester compound are used in combination in a prescribed proportion and therefore can attain synergistically powerful sterilizing effect and the wide bactericidal and/or fungicidal spectrum ranging from bacteria to yeast and molds.
