PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydroxyl-terminated liquid polymer-containing rubber, and a tire having its side wall. SOLUTION: A rubber composition contains a combination of cis-1,4,- polybutadiene and at least one liquid hydroxyl-terminated polyalkylene polymer with a copolymer of isoprene and p-methylstyrene and a small amount of at least one elastomer based on a conjugated diene, preferably cis-1,4-polyisoprene. This composition further contains a particulate reinforcing agent of carbon black or carbon black and silica together with a silane coupling agent. A tire has a side wall of this rubber composition.
